Great coffee from Slurps Coffee ☕️🫶 This morning I made an almond latte using the Picopresso ☕️👇 thebasicbarista.com/products/wacaco-picopresso-pressure-gauge #coffee #espresso #coffeeathome
Thank you for this recipe, I appreciate how easy and low cost it is! Most iced coffee recipes I've seen use 30+ grams of coffee and that's too many beans and mg of caffeine to justify for myself only 😅
Imagine doing this for 6 people.
Thanks but your video would have been much more helpful without the music so we could have understood what you were saying, and if you had been able to keep the grinder in view of the camera. I appreciate you trying because I need to understand how to do it, but I’m afraid this video did not help very much.
Did your black metal v60 paint start chipping off? It’s the best looking v60, but I’m apprehensive about buying it due to negative reviews about the paint.
So funny story, we are a retailer of Hario products. This metal black Hario v60 in the video is my personal unit but we have been selling hundreds of them for that last 4 years. Out of all these orders we had 1 unit that had chipped paint. We obviously swapped out that defective v60 for one that didn't have any paint scratching off. From my experience this seems to be an issue with how the coating was applied, the defective unit was already chipping in the box and this doesn't seem to be an issue around wear and tear. I hope this helps :)
@@TheBasicBarista That does help, thank you! Sounds like some people got defective units and wrote reviews about it, at least when I looked on Amazon. I think I will go buy one because it looks so nice. Just realized you guys are from Australia. My dad was from there, and moved here to America where I was born.
I use Cafflano Kompresso with 54mm basket (UNITONE)... But the espresso is always sour.............. I use WDT and hard tamping by fingers Arabica (> 10days after roast) medium roasted 200um (microns) 13 g 60 ml water 95 temp 30-60 seconds 30 ml out
Oh no way, I've had that coffee maker on my radar for a while now. Sorry to hear you aren't able to get any good tasting coffee out of it.
))))) 0:10 It's the best AD for the Picopresso because of the sound without any music in background. It represents many things.
Cheers
I have had this grinder for a couple years now and love it and see no reason for further upgrading. I do 23 clicks for medium to dark roast(fresh) in my V60 and 15 for Aeropress. Still tweaking for Moka pot.
Hell yeah! It's a great grinder.
How much water and coffee did you use?
15g coffee and 225g water (1:15 Ratio) You might be interested in an article we wrote for 3 different recipes on the switch: thebasicbarista.com/blogs/topics/4-recipes-to-try-on-your-hario-v60-switch-dripper Let me know your thoughts :)
@@TheBasicBarista thank you
@@TheBasicBarista Thank you! I will take a look at the article and I appreciate it. Jaremy
Nice 😎
thanks for watching
Acidity can be a bit harsh on my stomach, a less acidic coffee is what I'm looking for. So the aeropress sounds good for me 😄
Nice! I actually went throught something similar for a period of time. I wasn't able to have acidic coffee and it was so sad (for me) but one thing I should mention is that coffee beans you are using will have a huge impact on the level of acidity compared to the brewer. Hope this helps :)
@@TheBasicBarista I've read that dark roast could be less acidic, so I'm going to try it and see if it works for me. Thanks for the tips!
I am proud of you ❤
Love you homie
I know that guy 😅
He looks very familiar 👀
hehehehhe
these small filters look so weird lol
I know what you mean, just had these on hand when filming haha
Cleen that pls
hehehe if it was mine, it would be spotless
Basal makes a nice product, but they are always on the high end price wise. Been fusing around myself with a travel setup and finally decided that there is no one, total package. Aeropress works, Hario V60 works but has an accumulation of gear. Aeropress is a much simpler setup and a decent grinder can store inside the allowing more spaces for other items, or more coffee. Goof info, though,
Hey Michael, cheers for watching my video. Yeah I 100% agree, to add to your point I find that AeroPress being an immersion brewer is more forgiving with coffee. No one is brewing comp coffee on the go and if you were you would need a suitcase of gear hahaha. What grinder and gear are you bringing with your AeroPress?
wtf mine ,just brews in like 1min.. it doesnt take that long. and I have pretty much same grain cut
haha grind finer then! :)
@@TheBasicBarista mine its like yours.. i have electric bosh grinder
Yummmm Great vid!
hehe
So i used the same recipe. At the first sip it is more watery then at the finish the taste come out
hmm I'm not sure how this is possible as the ice melts over time slowly diluting the coffee ... I think your brew may have broken physics. Jokes aside, try grinding a little finer to increase the water - coffee contact time.
is this worth it to buy this metal dripper or tetsu kasuya or zebra dripper im planning to buy but i need to choose only one thanks for the answers
out of the 3 drippers you mentioned my favourite is the metal V60 with the matte black coating. I found that this dripper has a similar heat retention the plastic coffee dripper and a better filter - dripper interaction. I also included a link below to the dripper ... Hope this helps :) thebasicbarista.com/products/v60-dripper-matte-black-metal
Thank you !
Thanks for watching!
I have one. Works well
thanks for watching our video!
Oh yeah! You sure did pour that water! I'm gonna need help picking my jaw up off the floor! This is AMAZINGGGGGGGGG. You are the Michael Jordan of tilting your wrist 15 degrees and moving your hand in an anticlockwise spiral! No, not MJ - HULK HOGAN! HH BROTHER! I mean, holy FUCK! This is not LIKE a boss - noooo, this IS the boss! Bruce fuckin Sporgenstein, step aside! I will watch this literally 733 times. Not even kidding. I actually think I just came a little bit, tbh. And when I say a little bit, I actually mean a LOT. Ropes. Cream on the ceiling. I'm going to need a new Swiffer after this cleanup job. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you for this. You have literally changed my life and my entire perspective on reality and the meaning of human existence.
Bahahhaha this is my favourite comment so far Thanks for watching
Try pouring in the folded direction, bc some coffee grounds might stick between the papers and not extract properly.
great tip! You caught me lacking
I didn’t know this til i accidentally bought chocolate covered espresso beans from Starbucks in a hurry thinking they were nuts
hahahah that would've been a funny discovery
Its sawed off for that extra oomph!
You bet hahaha
How is the experience holding this cup? I know origami offers other beautiful mugs with handles, as I'm afraid that this one would be too hot to hold after pouring.
It's actually not to hot to hold the origami server. In regards to the Origami Pinot cup however, I am more so of a fan of the White cup as it has a smoother exterior surface :) (and no it doesn't heat up too much either as there rly isn't much coffee in it and the ceramic is thick enough to insulate it. Hope this helps!
Now I know how to get that cute love hart shape 😍 😏 thank u
heheh yay! Happy Brewing :)
why is he only talking into my left ear
When answering the question of whether this grinder is still recommended today, the most essential information is missing... How has the competition developed and is the grinder still objectively better than other models, such as those from 1zpresso? As you said, the changes to the grinder were very minimal. This is not answered here at all but old hymns of praise from many years ago are repeated, I don't see the point of this video unless it was planned as an advertising statement. I think enough has already been said about the music.
What brand is this cute cup?
This is the Ni Wares Coffee Cup 👇 thebasicbarista.com/products/ni-wares-bouba-cup We actually stock a whole range of coffee cups you can find here: thebasicbarista.com/collections/coffee-cups
you can’t let the bed get dry like that, it kills the brew because it cools down too much 2/10 V60
after going through a tedious process , man just proceeds to pour it to a flower pot , FML
just yesterday i buy mugen im still in learning stage thnks for the info
Should I get the newer model?
Link to scale?
That’s going to come out under extracted. The most expensive equipment in the world will not make up for poor technique.
Ice drink in add ice why?
Surprised no one recommended using a sink to wet the filter since it will cause it to stick more to the V60 decreasing bypass.
The music is annoying
Hey, i have just bought this exact variant and unsure about selecting the right grind size. When you turn the knob, the entire module moves! Can you please help
Is your mic broken? Why not make any comments on weight or feel or anything while you're doing this?
Kindly leave the procedure in the comments section please
What’s that machine? Looks interesting
Μetal&copper v60s are the worst.. Material n color soon fades out n you have it in your taste from both(metal&copper)simple plastic is much better, or ceramic😉😉😉
How many grams of water sir,and which ratio is this thanks for the reply
150 grams of ice in the jar, and 150 grams of water for the brew.
Жиза! Я называю это кофе выходного дня
Why not just mix it directly with hot water I never understood the point of the coffee machine
are you talking about Instant coffee???
hope it isn't PET plastic.
this is PCT Resin, a material commonly used in water bottles and microwave containers as it has a high heat resistance and is BPA free. Hario wouldn’t use a material that isn’t suitable, or is going to leach micro plastics!!!
Add a pinch of salt into the water that you're using to brew the coffee. It suppresses the bitterness, enhances the coffee flavor, and interacts with the phenolic compounds reducing the overall bitter taste.
Last resort! Thanks for watching
